They said every man should plant a tree
THIS IS WHAT GREW ON MINE
There is an old saying that ‘every man should plant a tree.’ It reminded me that I already did plant a tree: as a kid, I found an abandoned apple tree in a field and planted it in my family’s garden.
My new series are the fruit of that act. The tree in my textiles don’t bear normal fruit, the apples I drew often have female faces.
Using the tree and the apple as my primary metaphors, this series maps the landscape of my current reading, research, and inner reflections.
